Our team at Bell Hill Dental, Dunedin, strives to provide exceptional dentistry with exceptional service and care. Throughout our practice, the same philosophy and quality of care is the standard. Our dentists and hygienists are exceptionally skilled, caring and compassionate clinicians, and each one of our team members has been carefully selected for their skill, dedication and commitment to this ethic.

Here at Bell Hill Dental our education doesn’t stop with a degree. Each member of our dental care team strives to fully understand our patient’s needs, keeps up with the latest info and techniques in dentistry and strives to deliver the care best-suited to each individual patient. This includes formal as well as informal continuing education and training. We are all members of the NZ Dental Association and the Dunedin Branch of the NZDA.

Elaine Neill

Elaine graduated from Otago University in 1992 and gained the sought after position of Dental Housesurgeon at the Dunedin Public Hospital where she gained valuable experience in surgery and emergency dental procedures. She was appointed as a Clinical Tutor at the School of Dentistry where she thoroughly enjoyed teaching the students until she bought Bell Hill Dental in December 1995.

The practice has grown since then from two surgeries to five and is a testament to Elaine’s philosophy of treating everyone as equals, in a non-judgmental and caring environment.

Elaine is married with two children and provides the same standard of dentistry for her patients that she chooses for her family and herself.

Nick Bloor

Nick graduated from the University of Otago in 2010.  Since graduating Nick has worked at a very busy private practice in Melbourne’s CBD gaining experience in endodontics (root canal therapies), crown and bridge prosthetics and other areas of general practice.
Nick’s aim is to provide his patients with a top standard of care in a stress free environment.
He is very pleased to have returned to Dunedin with his family.  In his spare time Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and new baby boy, keeping fit and active and he also enjoys a round of golf.

Raquel Gerber-Bastos

Raquel has recently joined our practice and carries with her a deep desire to create an enjoyable experience to each of her patients. She belives that coming to the dentist should be both rewarding and pleasant.

After graduating from Dental School in Brazil, Raquel decided to move to New Zealand where she has worked not only in private practices but has also been enjoying teaching Final Year Students at the Otago School of Dentistry. Raquel is a member of the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (NZACD), and is always seeking to grow her passion for the Aesthetic and Restorative aspects of Dentistry. Among her many professional activities, she is most proud of the opportunities she has to do volunteer work both here in NZ and overseas. In particular, she has been actively engaged with a Charity Dental Clinic in Jerusalem since 2006 and feels extremely blessed for being able to help others.

When not at work, Raquel enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and is often found in her kitchen testing new recipes and developing her enthusiasm for food.

Nicky Fisher

Hi I'm Nicky and I'm a Oral Health Therapist. I have a special interest in the prevention of oral health diseases in all age groups. I have many years experience working as a Dental Therapist but after returning to further study, in 2012 I graduated from Otago University with a dual degree in Dental Hygiene, Dental Therapy and Health Promotion.

I am passionate about positive oral health but also about promoting optimum general health and well being. Research indicates that infection in the mouth can be linked to other health problems elsewhere in the body.

I aim to provide a friendly, non jundgemental and fully informed environment for my patients. I hope to empower the individual to a more improved oral health with special emphasis on the prevention of oral health problems.

At Bell Hill Dental we offer a team approach to oral care and I really enjoy working with the amazing supportive Bell Hill team around me.

Sharon Millar

Sharon has worked in the dental industry for nearly 30 years, both in private practice and at the School of Dentistry. After managing the dental clinic at Wakari Hospital for 2 years she joined the Bell Hill Dental team in 1996, first as dental assistant then as receptionist and then as the practice grew, become Practice Manager. There is very little that Sharon doesn’t know about Bell Hill Dental and she is always here to help with any questions or concerns. She thoroughly values the wonderful relationships that she has built up over many years with so many of our wonderful patients.
